ROBERT VOLPE has focused most of his career in strategy, venture development, project finance, and marketing for companies seeking to bring new technologies to market. He has worked with innovative companies and project developers in the areas of solar, wind, waste-to-energy, energy demand management, and other technologies that deal with resource depletion and climate change.
Mr. Volpe has successfully led international business development and project finance within the solar and waste-to-energy industries, including working at the highest levels with African governments. He evaluated many technologies and performed market research and commercialization strategies for new-to-market cleantech products, technologies, and services. Mr. Volpe has been a speaker on a variety of topics and has presented his research on China’s Wind Energy Growth Strategy & Opportunity and as a speaker and panelist at the International Biomass Conference on disruptive technologies and innovation affecting the industry.
Prior to Riverview Consulting, Mr. Volpe was a consultant focused on the cleantech sector and a senior executive of business development, finance & strategy at a number of early-stage renewable energy companies.
In the 1990s, Mr. Volpe was a partner and director for ten years at a technology solutions provider that created a suite of SaaS ERP applications that processed more than $400 million annually for customers and had strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies Fiserv and Checkfree.
Mr. Volpe holds an M.B.A. and an M.S. in Finance from the University of Colorado and a B.S. from Boston University.
